The city is known as the "Portuguese Rome" for its concentration of religious architecture In Portugal, Braga's population is considered the most conservative, and by some the most pious, by others the most fanatic. The city is one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal.

School - Agrupamento de Escolas Alberto Sampaio

It was the first school in Braga, to promote the inclusion of deaf students, and that has been doing over the past few years. It works as Office for Educational Support Specialist on Deafness (Special Education). In our school there is a very diverse student population, serving mainly the central and southern part of the city. However, in recent years, it has stressed the trend towards greater diversification, integrating school students from all city parishes. From a sociological point of view, this school includes students from upper-middle and high class families, but also a significant portion, students from families of medium-low and low social level, people with very low levels of education. The school also includes a set of equipment, as a result of investment in several projects over many years, and that allow the assumption of space as an active space for the dissemination and construction of culture, science and the arts, open to the community that surrounds it. www.esas.pt
